THERE IS A DUTY SHIFT OFFICER ON 24-HOURS A DAY!
In the event the offices of the Vernon Police Department are closed or unattended, please refer to the following phone numbers for assistance:
For Non-Emergencies - Dispatch - 254-6962
Vernon Police Office - 257-2638
ALWAYS REMEMBER - Please
call 911 for emergencies
In an Effort to improve Police services, the Vernon Police Department would like to make the following recommendations when calling for Police assistance:
- If you have any emergency, call 9-1-1 and stay on the line until a dispatcher tells you to hang up. If you accidentally dial 9-1-1 and then advise that you do not need police services, an officer will still be dispatched to your location. Our priority is always to ensure the safety and well-being of our residents.
- If it is not an emergency, but you need to speak with an officer, use the 254-6962 number and an officer will be dispatched. In some cases, emergencies do occur and a timely response may not be possible. However, if you have not received a response within one (1) hour, please call back and confirm that an officer has been notified.
The Vernon Police Department provides 24-hour coverage including after hour on call service. It is the goal of this Department to provide the best possible coverage with timely responses to the citizens of our town.
